# ProfileHunt

> ProfileHunt is a LinkedIn Profile API. Send one public LinkedIn profile URL and get structured JSON back: identity, headline, about, experience, education, followers, connections and recent posts. Pricing is pay-as-you-go credits: $1 buys 2,000 credits, 1 credit = 1 profile ($0.50 per 1,000 profiles). No subscription, no LinkedIn login, credits never expire, profiles not found are not charged. Public profile view only: it returns what a logged-out visitor sees, not the full profile signed-in members see.

## Key facts

- Price: $0.0005 per profile, $0.50 per 1,000 profiles, $1 = 2,000 profiles
- Free credits to start: 100 with a work email, 10 with a personal email
- Billing: prepaid credits per workspace, no subscription, credits never expire
- Not found, private, deleted or unavailable profiles: not charged, credit refunded automatically
- Access: REST API with workspace API keys, plus a playground in the dashboard; works from any HTTP client (code, Clay, n8n)
- Data source: publicly visible LinkedIn profile data only, fetched live at request time (`scraped_at`)
- Does not use your LinkedIn account, session cookie or Sales Navigator seat

## API

`POST https://api.profilehunt.dev/v1/profile` with `Authorization: Bearer <key>` (or `x-api-key: <key>`) and body `{ "url": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/<slug>" }`.

Responses:

- `200 {"status":"ok","profile":{...}}` — 1 credit
- `200 {"status":"gone","profile":null}` — no public profile at that URL, not charged
- `200 {"status":"unavailable","profile":null}` — LinkedIn did not serve it right now, not charged, retry later
- `401` invalid key · `402` out of credits · `422` not a linkedin.com/in/ URL · `429` over 60 requests/minute on this key (see `Retry-After`), not charged · `502`/`503`/`504` temporary, not charged

## Data returned (`profile`)

Every key is always present: `null` when the profile does not show it, `[]` for an empty list.

- Identity: public_id, profile_url, full_name, first_name, last_name, photo_url
- Headline & about: headline, about, location, country
- Experience: experience[] — company, company_url, start_date, end_date
- Education: education[] — school, school_url, start_date, end_date
- Signals: followers, connections, creator, badges, languages
- Activity: last_post_at, recent_posts[] (url, posted_at, text, likes), recent_articles[] (url, headline, published_at, likes)
- Metadata: scraped_at (ISO 8601)
